Dr. Herbold was raised in Sarasota, FL since the age of 9 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Riverview High School. Even after leaving Sarasota for college and medical school, he always knew deep down he wanted to come back as he feels that Sarasota is his family. As a child he grew up dreaming about being on staff at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. In January of 1999 his dreams came true after he took over Dr. Andrew Peterson's practice when he retired from his 20 year career. Dr. Herbold has grown the practice exponentially since acquired in '99.

Dr. Robert Herbold received his undergraduate education from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He then went on to complete his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Herbold completed his podiatric orthopedic residency at Minneapolis Veterans Administration Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and his podiatric surgical residency at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, Illinois.

Dr. Herbold is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and affiliated with the American Podiatric Medical Association as well as the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
